Saskatchewan pushed for higher immigration rates, prompting the federal government to assign an extra 100 nominations to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). This brings the total nominations for 2023 to 7,350, the highest ever. With these nominations, nearly 20,000 newcomers are expected to settle in Saskatchewan over the next two years, complementing the roughly 6,000 immigrants annually through federal channels.
